The Building Act 2011 significantly enhances the previous Building Licence and Certificate of Classification processes through the use of a qualified registered building surveyor to certify compliance as part of the new Building Permit and Occupancy Permit processes being introduced. In addition to delivering consultancy services during the design and construction phases, Resolve Group can act as private certifiers and assist clients in achieving the following compliance certificates: Issue a Certificate of Design Compliance to form part of the Certified Application to the Permit Authority; Undertake the prescribed inspections as detailed on the Certificate of Design Compliance; Issue a Certificate of Construction Compliance to form part of the Occupancy Permit Application to the Permit Authority; Issue a Certificate of Building Compliance to form part of the Building Approval Certificate or Occupancy Permit Application for Unauthorised Building Works or Built Strata Subdivision Approval. Undertake an assessment of the project documentation for the Project or audit of an existing building to ensure compliance with the NCC and referenced Australian Standards; Provision of NCC Compliance Assessment Report which will identify any non-compliance/s found and provide advice on available solutions to resolve the non-compliance/s. It is typical to provide multiple reports (as required) to allow for a staged application/approval process, which is typical of these types of projects when often Building Permit documentation is not available for single submissions; Attend project meetings within the Client’s office to guide the design and progress of the project. Meet with Project Design Team and other relevant Project Stakeholders to discuss drawing progress / design development; Provide feedback to project consultants in respect to necessary approvals required from the relevant Local Government Authority and in particular compliance levels achieved of building designs against the BCA/NCC and relevant Australian Standards. Manage the statutory process for liaising and negotiating with the Department of Fire & Emergency Services; Manage the statutory process for obtaining the necessary Local Government Authority development approval for the Project, including lodgement of the application, providing a breakdown of the relevant application fees and specific application requirements. Our office will ensure prompt communication with the relevant Local Government Authority to ensure that the development approval is issued in keeping with the project program.
